Carotid artery screenings will be offered monthly on Thursdays at the STPH Mandeville Diagnostic Center on a first come, first served basis from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. No appointment necessary. Dates currently available are March 29, April 26, May 31 and June 28. Additional dates to be announced. These screenings are FREE and open to the public. Anyone over age 50, or over age 40 with risk factors for stroke, carotid artery disease, or atrial fibrillation (also known as irregular heartbeat), should have a carotid artery screening. When you go to have ascreening, be sure to wear a shirt that is open at the collar, exposing the neck. The knowledgeable and caring radiology staff at the STPH Mandeville Diagnostic Center perform the screenings utilizing our state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment.
