Commission on Cultural Affairs

The mission of the St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs is to enrich the lives of the citizens of St. Tammany Parish by nurturing, sustaining, and enhancing the arts.

The St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs has many programs and initiatives available to assist arts organizations and non-profit agencies presenting arts programs, so as to foster development of the arts in St. Tammany Parish. We offer programs and initiatives in grants, public art, arts marketing, leadership and organization development, cultural programs, cultural planning and technical assistance.

Meet our next Creative Native Artist of the Week, Luba Zygarewicz. Luba is a mixed media artist, culture bearer, and educator living in Mandeville, LA.

From the artist:
“Working in a responsive manner, I create material-and-process driven works that archive the everyday to highlight and value ordinary human experience. Oftentimes capturing the transient nature of place and time, my pieces involve accumulation of elements and embody dichotomies: lightness contrasted with heft; fragility countered by strength; discards and decay restored or preserved. By re-imagining spaces and materials, I create immersive works that spark wonder.”
You can find more of Luba’s work by visiting her Facebook page or Instagram.  You can also check out her most recent show for THIS’ Gallery in Vancouver by visiting
What an amazing talent to have here is St. Tammany Parish!
