The mission of the St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs is to enrich the lives of the citizens of St. Tammany Parish by nurturing, sustaining, and enhancing the arts.

The St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs has many programs and initiatives available to assist arts organizations and non-profit agencies presenting arts programs, so as to foster development of the arts in St. Tammany Parish. We offer programs and initiatives in grants, public art, arts marketing, leadership and organization development, cultural programs, cultural planning and technical assistance. 

15Th ANNUAL PRESIDENT'S ARTS AWARDS

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper will honor 10 recipients at the 15th President’s Arts Awards presented by the St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs, Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 5:30-8:30pm at Northshore Technical Community College.

Recipients include:
Performing Artist of the Year - Kenya Lawrence Jackson
Visual Artist of the Year - Mary Monk
Literary Artist of the Year - Dr. Eva Semien Baham
Musical Artist of the Year - Richard "Ricky" Windhorst, III
Culinary Artist of the Year - Jeff Hansell
Patron of the Year - The Lake 94.7
President's Award - Ben Bensen, III
Outstanding Service Award - Stephen B. Cefalu
Native Son - Greg Barnhill
Lifetime Achievement Award - Ron Barthet

Ticket donations benefit the Creative Relief Northshore Fund, an emergency response initiative that provides funding for a wide variety of programs aimed to address the needs of the arts community following an emergency or disaster.

LOUISIANA PROJECT GRANTS

Louisiana Project Grants (LPG) fund project assistance for community-based arts projects that have meaningful community involvement and collaboration with diversity, equity, and inclusion as a priority. Formerly the Decentralized Arts Fund (DAF), these grants seek to support creativity and innovation throughout Region 9 which consists of St. Tammany and St. Bernard Parish. The application is open NOW! Due to Hurricane Ida, the application deadline has been extended through Septemeber 29, 2021 at 11:59pm.

Make a donation to Creative Relief Northshore to help the artists and arts and culutral oragnizations in their recovery. Through Creative Relief, the Commission on Cultural Affairs will identify artists and arts organizations who have lost or incurred damage as a result of a disaster or emergency. Financial contributions to this effort will provide artists and arts organizations with immediate assistance in their time of need.

The St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs is an agency of the St. Tammany Parish Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism and is supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council. Funding has also been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, Art Works.
