Planning - Comprehensive Rezoning

St. Tammany Parish Government is reviewing the zoning classification of every property in unincorporated St. Tammany Parish. This two year effort is the implementation of the recently adopted St. Tammany Parish Unified Development Code - Volume 1 (Zoning Ordinance). This Code replaces the present Zoning Ordinance originally drafted and adopted over 20 years ago.

St. Tammany Parish has been divided into 5 Study Areas. These areas will be undergoing a comprehensive review and recommendation for adoption by the Parish Council with a target date for completion of all Areas by the end of 2009.

South Central Study Area Recommendations
The Planning Staff made their recommendations to the Zoning Commission at a special meeting on May 20, 2008.

Please follow the links to the powerpoint presentation and a map of the recommendations.

Update
The staff recommendations for the South Central Study Area will be presented to the Zoning Commission at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in the Council Chambers on Koop Drive.

This will be a presentation only. The public is welcome to attend, but no input will be taken that night. The Zoning Commission will hold at least two public hearings on the staff recommendations on June 17, 2008 and July 15, 2008. This will give everyone a month or two to review the proposal before commenting. Additional hearings will be held by the Parish Council.

We are trying to secure a large enough facility to hold the South West Study Area kickoff meeting in early June. We will announce that location when it has been identified.
Upcoming Events
