PARISH Council
The St. Tammany Parish Council is the legislative arm of St. Tammany Parish Government. The fourteen members of the Council, as a branch of Parish Government, have the right, power and authority to pass ordinances covering several areas including preserving the general welfare, safety, health, peace and good order of the parish and the management of Parish affairs. The Parish Council is bound by the constitution and laws applicable to Parish government.

PROPOSED DISTRICT 11 MORATORIUM
Continued development of property within the area of the proposed moratorium will worsen drainage problems and impact sensitive wetlands placing an increased burden on the drainage and already heavily impacted road infrastructure, adversely impacting the health, safety, and general welfare of parish citizens. As such, a moratorium is needed in order to perform a study is necessary to determine what improvements are necessary to support long term growth and responsible development of the area.
As occurs every year, a new Council Chairman and Vice Chairman have taken over the helm of the
St. Tammany Parish Council. Our new Chairman is Mr. Jake Airey and Vice Chairwoman is Mrs. Cheryl Tanner.
