Weather Preparation 4PM Update
Weather Preparation Update
The St. Tammany Parish Crisis Action Team met at 4:00PM to discuss ongoing preparation for the weather associated with Tropical Storm/Depression Bonnie. At this time, no major changes in preparations for St. Tammany will occur. The latest information from the National Weather Service indicates the track of the system has moved slightly east, and has maintained most of its forward speed. Rainfall in our area is still expected to be in the 2 to 4 inch range, with tides 2 to 5 feet above normal.
Barges are continuing to be moved into the Lakeshore Estates area of Slidell, where they will be secured until after the system has passed. They will be redeployed immediately following the system.
The St. Tammany Parish Emergency Operations Center will be staffed with members of the Crisis Action Team for the duration of the event. Please stay tuned to Access St. Tammany Channel 10 and www.stpgov.org for up to date information on St. Tammany Parish storm preparations.
