Brownswitch Road and LA 1091 intersection to be Closed
The intersection of Robert Road (LA 1091) and Brownswitch Road in Slidell will be closed from 8:00 PM, Friday, January 13, 2012, through 5:00 pm Monday, January 16, 2012, while crews construct the roundabout to replace the current signalized intersection, weather permitting. Work will proceed on a 24 hour schedule.
Through traffic will not be allowed, however, access will be maintained to all businesses.
It should be noted that every effort will be made to open the intersection by 5:000 PM on Monday, however, if unforeseeable circumstances take place the closure may have to be extended until Tuesday, January 17, 2012, morning at 5:00 AM.
Permit/Detour Section
Only the intersection will be closed. Both LA 1091 (Robert Road) and Brownswitch Road will be open to local traffic up to the intersection. Emergency vehicles will have access.
During construction, to avoid the closure, eastbound motorists on Brownswitch Road may take US 11 North to Southbound LA 1090 (Military Road) to Brownswitch Road. Westbound motorists on Brownswitch Road may take Northbound LA 1090 (Military Road) to Southbound US 11 to Brownswitch Road.
Southbound motorists on LA 1091 (Robert Road) may take US 11 South to US 190 (Gause Boulevard) to LA 1091 (Robert Road). Northbound motorists on LA 1091 (Robert Road) may take US 190 to US 11 to LA 1091 (Robert Road).
