St. Tammany Parish Department of Animal Services Participates in Clear the Shelters 2019
Pat Brister, St. Tammany Parish President, announced the Department of Animal Services will participate in Clear the Shelters 2019 — a nationwide, fee-waived, pet adoption drive — on Saturday, August 17, 2019.
“During this event in 2018, over 50 pets found forever homes, and this year, we want to surpass that number,” said Pat Brister, St. Tammany Parish President. “When you shop the shelter first, you get a pet who has been spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated. And during Clear the Shelter there’s no fee to adopt. It’s a win for the animal and a win for the pet owner as well.”
Animal Services has extended to hours for the Clear The Shelters event to make as convenient as possible, and will have special adoption hours 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. (on August 17). Regular adoption hours as of August 1, 2019 are 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and closed for lunch from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Animal Services is located at 31078 Highway 36 in the Lacombe area.
