SandBag Locations 

St. Tammany Parish Government will open six self-service sandbag locations beginning Sunday, September 13, 2020. All locations will have sand and bags provided. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels in case all shovels provided are in use. In addition, residents are asked to limit the number of sandbags to 15 per vehicle. There will be someone on-hand to assist the elderly and/or disabled at each location.  The locations will be open from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2020, and 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2020.

    Mary, Queen of Peace in Mandeville
    Will be collecting the items listed here at their Parish Center starting Tuesday, September 1, through Sunday September 6. Please note: You may want to avoid the school carline from 2 to 3 p.m. If you are available to help sort and organize items, please contact Karen Baker at NO CLOTHING WILL BE ACCEPTED

  • Water
  • Canned, ready-to-eat items with pull tops: Vegetables and fruit.
  • Protein in pouches or pull-top cans: tuna, beef stew, chili, canned chicken.
  • Peanut butter, cereal, shelf milk.
  • Snacks: Granola bars, breakfast bars, etc.
  • Toiletries: Shampoo, soap, deodorant, hand sanitizer, bandages,
  • toothpaste, tooth brush, feminine products, adult diapers.
  • Baby products: Diapers, wipes, powdered formula.
  • Paper products: Paper Towels, tissue, toilet paper.
  • Cleaning supplies: Mops, buckets, brooms sponges, bleach wipes, bleach, contractor garbage bags, tarps, rakes, work gloves.

If you would like to make a financial contribution, make the check out to Mary, Queen of Peace with “Hurricane Laura relief” in the notation and we will ensure all donations go to the affected areas in Lake Charles.

Pearl River
David McGregor and Bridgett Bennett have contacted two churches in the Lake Charles area and in southeast Texas to deliver relief supplies after Hurricane Laura passes. Donations can be brought to town hall during normal business hours.

**Absolutely no clothing will be accepted**

  • Soap
  • Deodorant
  • Water bottles
  • Toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • New pillows
  • Cleaning supplies, gloves, buckets, towels.
  • Dog and cat food

You can drop off supplies (9/1 and 9/2) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the parking lot on Bayou Lane near Heritage Park in Slidell (or until the 18 wheeler trailer is full).

Frisard Companies has an 18-wheeler on site and will be collecting requested donations and loading up supplies that will be delivered to the Cajun Navy warehouse in Baton Rouge. They will distribute the items as needed to the victims of Hurricane Laura. At this time, these are the items that are desperately needed:

  • Cases of water
  • Sealed drinks – Gatorade, Powerade
  • Baby supplies
  • New sealed packs of socks and underwear
  • Cleaning supplies, gloves, masks, trash bags, mop buckets, scrub brushes
  • Toiletries
  • Non-perishable food and snacks
  • Hygiene products
  • Tarps
