Commission on Cultural Affairs

The mission of the St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs is to enrich the lives of the citizens of St. Tammany Parish by nurturing, sustaining and enhancing the arts.

The St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs is the local arts agency and humanities commission of St. Tammany Parish and one of nine regional arts councils in the State of Louisiana. As such, the Commission on Cultural Affairs has many programs and initiatives available to assist arts organizations and non-profit agencies presenting arts programs, so as to foster development of the arts in our Parish and region. We offer programs and initiatives in grants, public art, arts marketing, leadership and organization development, cultural programs, cultural planning and technical assistance.  


ANNUAL PRESIDENT'S ARTS AWARDS RECIPIENTSEvery year, after carefully reviewing nominations, the Commission on Cultural Affairs and the Parish President select recipients in 10 categories to be recognized for their outstanding artistic achievements and contributions to the community.

LOUISIANA PROJECT GRANTS
The Louisiana Project Grant Program (LPG) provides a system for funding arts projects in all regions of the State by giving artists, non-profits, schools, and local government agencies in each region the opportunity to develop arts projects that meet local needs. The St. Tammany Parish Commission on Cultural Affairs administers the program as the Regional Arts Council for Region 9 which includes St. Tammany and St. Bernard parishes.The FY24 application period is now open. The St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs is an agency of the St. Tammany Parish Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism and is supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council. Funding has also been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, Art Works.
